5 MONTHS

Can you believe it? Dylan is now 5 months and below are his stats from the pediatrician office.

HEIGHT: 25 INCHES ( 10-15 %)
WEIGHT: 14 LBS 5 OZ (10-25%)
HEAD CIRCUMFERENCE: 42.5 CM (50%)

Dylan was such a good boy! He didn't cry when he got his shots and was smiling at the doctor the whole time.

Dr. Wang calls him little Buddha!
Just chillling
I'm ready for my shots

Things I've noticed this month:

** Started on solids; that might explain the increase in biting during nursing...OUCH!
** Has his first middle bottom tooth!
** Able to sit up unassisted for a little bit and tries to pull himself up from his seat
** Sits in his toddler seat
** Pulls down on his infant carrier toy (before he would just reach for it)
** Wears size 2-3 diapers
** Cries alot louder (maybe from the teething)

Below are some pictures of Dylan in action.

In my toddler seat and loving it!

THE HUNTINGTON LIBRARY

Dylan loves being outdoors, so we took him to the Huntington Library.  The Huntington is an educational and research institution where it displays an art collection strong in English portraits and French 18th-century furniture.  It also has botanical gardens that feature sections for the historic cactus collection, the Zen Garden, the Chinese Scholar's Garden and many other specialty gardens. We took Dylan to the children's garden!

Testing out the fountain
I think he likes it!

Smelling the flowers

Again at the fountain
This time with Daddy
He's pooped! What a day!

GOT RICE?

We decided to give Dylan a taste of rice cereal this month. He has been drinking more milk, so we figured he might like to try something new. Our first attempt was a disaster (as expected)...the food got all over the place and I doubt he ate any of it. He was open to biting the spoon and putting the food in his mouth, but he did not know how to swallow it. Hence, it got all over his bib. It was fun trying though!

After a couple tries, we quickly learned to get a waterproof, bigger bib for the spills and the Boon spoon made it so easy to feed him! In a week, he got the hang of things and everything made it in his mouth! His bib was clean!! I can't wait to have him try other foods!
