Happy Holidays!

Dylan is more interactive now. It's a good thing because Lolo and Kristine came to visit us for the holidays and spend Christmas with us. They stayed for almost 2 weeks and helped take care of Dylan!

Getting better at tummy time

Having fun in the swing

So much fun he fell asleep!

Kristine is a natural!! She made up a few nicknames for Dylan.
Dyl-sky, Dyl-Dyl, Dyl-weed, Dyl-ard...

Dylan loves being outside in the sun!

Sporting his new hat...slightly big, but keeps the sun out of his face!

We spent Christmas Eve with my side of the family and even had a little cake for Dylan to celebrate his first Christmas! Chinese people like to spend the holidays at restaurants. It was packed!

Grandma and Grandpa

Lolo (we missed you, Lola!)

We hung out with Alex's side of the family on Christmas Day! We got to see Weng's new house and spend time with the kiddos, Lorei Jane and Jet-Jet. They are getting so big!!

Taking a stroll in Old Town Pasadena

Stopping by Starbucks for a drink. It was so warm outside! That's what I love about California...it's warm 365 days a year! (Well, almost)

Lolo and Kristine were able to check out the Rose Bowl and the floats for the Rose Parade.

10 bucks for admission!

Dylan's pooped! Slept the entire time!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

We are so excited to celebrate Christmas this year because it is Dylan's first Christmas! We decided to take Dylan to the mall and take pictures with Santa! Usually Dylan eats approximately every 2 1/2 - 3 hours during the day when we are at home, but I think he was so mesmerized by all the people and decor in an unfamiliar setting, he lasted for 4 hours and didn't cry at all either! He is so curious and loves to look at new things, especially outside the window!

Our picture with Santa

My friend's 5 week old baby Aiden also came to the mall to take pictures with Santa. They're twins in cute Santa hats and outfits.
Dylan is starting to track movements and faces. He is much more alert and usually awake in the late morning and early afternoon.

Such a happy baby! He smiles when you play and talk to him. He could also sit up propped onto a pillow. Maybe I should put him in a Bumbo soon.

Merry Christmas from the Mogul family to yours!!

SO LONG, FAREWELL

I'm sad to say, but my OB will be leaving at the end of the month. At least she was able to deliver Dylan and get to see him one last time.

At the hospital

The first person to hold Dylan!

My 6 week appointment went well. Time to start trying for the next one, my doctor said. Ummm..sure. HAHA!

6 WEEKS

Today was Dylan's 6 week appointment at the pediatrician's office.

LENGTH- 21.5 in
WEIGHT- 10 lbs, 2 oz
HEAD CIRCUMFERENCE- 37.5 cm

The doctor says his length and head growth have slowed down from his 2 week appointment, but everything is growing proportionally. He is in the 10-25 percentile in head circumference and length. He is 25 percentile in weight. Dylan is starting to become more interactive and less sleepy. That means more tummy time and baby exercises! The doctor says to even read to him! Sounds silly, but he can start tracking objects now.

Dylan got his shots today...He cried for a minute, but he was such a trooper and stopped crying afterwards. And he got some cool Spiderman Band-Aids!

DYLAN'S FAVORITES

Dylan has developed some favorites during his first 4 weeks of life:

"My thinker look"

"My one eye open look"

"My mad dog look"

"My content look during a burp"

"My smiling look"

"My swaddled look...the only way to get some good sleep!"

Which one is your favorite??

WHAT'S A WOOGUL??

My lovely friend, Olivia came up with the nickname by combining our last names.

WOO+MOGUL = WOOGUL

So, welcome to the Woogul family!!

A NEW CHAPTER

This is my first blog. I thought I would create one to capture wonderful memories as well as share them with friends and family.

Alex and I are starting a new chapter in our lives. After 3 years of marriage, we are now proud parents of a beautiful baby boy, Dylan. He was born on November 1, 2011 at 11:48 AM at Huntington Memorial Hospital. He weighed 6 pounds, 2 ounces and measured at 19 inches.

Dylan stayed in the NICU for a couple of days, but luckily he was able to come home with us on the day of discharge!

These past few weeks have definitely been difficult...it's true, raising a baby is NOT easy. But we are so excited to embark on this new adventure that will make it all worth it!
