15 Months..a little behind.

I'm sorry for the delay in my posts...I've been running around these past couple of months or just too tired to post pics, but...(this one's for you Nilo!!) here's what we've been up to.
Dylan is almost 17 months!! GAAAHH!! Time has been flying by! But we did go to his 15 month appointment and here's his stats:

HEIGHT: 30 INCHES ( 10 %)
WEIGHT: 19 LBS 7.5 OZ (5-10%)
HEAD CIRCUMFERENCE: 46 CM (25%)

I couldn't believe he wasn't 20 pounds yet! When we went to Chicago, we put him on a scale and I was sure that he weighed 20 pounds, but oh well. By his 18 month appointment, I'm sure he would be over 20 pounds. He's gotten heavier since then. Mealtimes are still sometimes a struggle, but I think we're making progress.

Things I've noticed:

** Walks very well and doesn't trip over things like before. He's very careful with stairs and uneven pavement too!
** Still teething and drooling. Sigh...I wonder when it will stop...His pediatrician said he now has 16 teeth. Almost a full set of teeth...just waiting for the 4 molars.
** Opens his arms wide when I ask him, "How much do you love Mommy?" and pats Daddy's back when Daddy asks. Waves good bye and blows kisses when prompted. And pretends to sanitize his hands after I put on his diaper.
** Likes to drink water out of my cup and says, "AAAHHHH...." afterwards
** Says mama, dada, out, bye, apple
** Sleeps usually from 8pm-7am with 1-2 naps (varies from 1-3 hours) during the day. I'm so grateful that I don't have to wake up around 5am anymore. It's so nice to sleep in. (Current moms know what I'm talking about!)
** Loves to sign "all done" and "more" with his hands. He's got those 2 down! Now I just need to teach him please and thank you!
**Likes to play with household items, opening and closing doors, pressing buttons on kitchen appliances, washer/dryers, and turning on/off lights.
**Knows how to throw a tantrum when we take things away from him. But it usually only lasts a few seconds since he gets distracted with other things.

I think that these past few months and the months to come are quite amazing! While I am almost recovered from the lack of sleep I endured for the 1st year of Dylan's life, I can now enjoy all the fun things Dylan's learning and keeping track of all his developments. Anyway, enough of the talking...and now for some pics and videos!
 Hanging out with "Simba"
Dylan loved playing with these toys at the mall

He didn't want to get out...Guess what he did when I took eventually took him out...TANTRUM!
Playing with chopsticks...I now...they're a poking hazard, but I'm watching him the entire time, and he's actually pretty careful with them.
Dylan started to go to Gymboree Play and Learn. He's progressing well and starting to follow directions more after going there a few times.
Climbing up the ladder all by himself!

 He likes the innertube alot!
Peekaboo!
Watch Dylan playing some basketball!

Pouts with this face more often...haha!

The weather has been so nice lately that I bring him outside to play. He loves the outdoors. Here's a few pics in our backyard.

This video is hilarious to me...Throwing a tantrum when Dylan doesn't want to be held!
Dylan saw my cleaning lady and decides to imitate!

Well, I hope this makes up for all the months I was not posting!!
Happy Reading!!

The next tennis star!

I took Dylan to the park the other day since it was nice and sunny! We went to the playground and I was hoping he would have a fantastic time watching all the other kids, play on the swing, and go down the slide! I put him in the swing and...

He sat in it for a few seconds before wanting to get out! There's a tennis court right next to the playground and quickly left the other kids to watch some kid's tennis lesson. I guess Alex has been brainwashing him to be the next tennis star. Dylan even has his own toddler racquet at home!

He was so happy when one of the balls flew over the fence and was playing with the ball for a while, but he really wanted to get onto the courts!
Here's Dylan trying to squeeze through the hole of the gate, but unfortunately, he did not succeed.

Oh well, maybe next time...watch a video of how mesmerized Dylan was!!

Mini Chicago Trip

Alex and I had a few days off together, so we decided to surprise Lolo and take a quick trip to Chicago, even though it was super cold and snowing! Lolo's and Alexis' birthdays were coming up, so it was nice to celebrate with them!
Lolo was ready to Skype with us (see his computer in the background??) But instead, we decided to say hi in person! He was sooo surprised! =)
Uncle Albert hanging out with the "top dog!"
I don't know what Dylan was doing here, but I just think this picture is so adorable.
Dylan is trying out his cousin's roller coaster! He loved it!
On Saturday, we went to the Children's museum. I think Dylan's favorite part was "steering the plane!" He was on that thing forever. I had to pry his hands off and let the other kids play!

Here's Dylan playing with water and ducks! He was a little too small to grab the ducks, so this other girl would grab them and Dylan would throw it back into the water. So cute.

We celebrated our last night with a delicious home cooked meal from Kristine's boyfriend, Andrew and of course, ice cream cake!! Happy birthday Lolo and Alexis!!!

12 months and Christmas!

Dylan's finally 1 year old!  Okay, Dylan's a little over 12 months now...but here's his stats from the peds office from November:

HEIGHT: 29 INCHES ( 25 %)
WEIGHT: 17 LBS 14 OZ (7%)
HEAD CIRCUMFERENCE: 45.5 CM (25-50%)

Things I've noticed:

** Stands for a few seconds on his own and walks very fast with his little toy walker. He's getting better at turning the corners too! (It's now 14 months, and Dylan's walking full time! How time flies!)
** Bites my shoulders..sometimes if I don't catch him in time, it really hurts! He's teething and drooling like there's no tomorrow. When I went to brush his teeth, I'm seeing more teeth coming in at all 4 corners.
** Raises both his hands when we say "How big is Dylan?" or "Touchdown"
** Holds his bottles when he drinks milk or water
** Loves Cheerios, cheese, and grapes...he can pick those up with his own hands now! I'm trying to get him to start using utensils now. he understands the concept of holding the spoon and putting food in his mouth, but his motor skills need a little work.
** Says "up" when he wants to be held and "nai nai" which means milk in Chinese.

We started taking Dylan to the babysitters and he's doing very well there...but as all day care centers, they get sick all the time. =( But I guess that's how it is...

I didn't take any "12 month" pictures because we had his birthday party pics, so I'll share some Christmas pics instead! These few were taken at a local park. I had to take over 200 pics to get some good ones in! Dylan kept trying to pull his cap off. Alex was my assistant. He was so good at making Dylan smile and preparing for each pose.

 Love that smile!

Dylan loves dogs! Here's a cute pic at one of the Christmas parties we attended!

 Can't wait for Christmas!
